The James C. Gaither Junior Fellows Program provides an opportunity for approximately 15 students who desire careers in international affairs to have a substantive working experience in Washington, D.C. Junior Fellows work as research assistants to scholars working at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. 

During their year in DC, the Gaither Junior Fellows provide research assistance to scholars working within Carnegie’s
programs (See the list of programs accepting fellows this cycle below). Fellows have the opportunity to conduct research, contribute to op-eds, papers, reports, and books, edit documents, participate in meetings with high-level officials, contribute to congressional
testimony and organize briefings attended by scholars, activists, journalists and government officials.
